The First Open Call for ESA BIC Slovakia is officially live! We are looking for the next generation of space pioneers—whether you are using satellite data to solve problems on Earth (downstream) or building the technology that goes into space (upstream).
If you have a startup idea not older than 5 years, or even just a solid concept and the ambition to found a company, here is what you need to know to apply.
🛑 STEP 1: The “We Need More Space” Check Before you dive into the paperwork, stop and ask: Is my space connection strong enough? We strongly recommend starting with the Space Connection Assessment. Why do it?
👉 Validation: It confirms if your idea truly qualifies for ESA support.
👉 Clarity: It helps you articulate exactly how you use space technology (e.g., EO data, GNSS, satellite comms, or tech transfer).
👉 Feedback: It allows us to give you guidance before you submit your full proposal, saving you time and increasing your chances of success.
📝 STEP 2: The Application Package To officially apply, you must download the templates from our website and submit the following key documents:
- Cover Letter: Your formal introduction and declaration of compliance.
- Business Plan: The “Why” and “Who.” Show us the market opportunity, your competitive advantage, and the team that will make it happen.
- Incubation Proposal: The “How.” A detailed roadmap of your technical and business milestones for the 2-year incubation period, including your cost planning.
💡 Pro Tip: Don’t just copy-paste. The Business Plan is about your vision; the Incubation Proposal is about execution.
