๐ผ Selling Your Vision to ESA
The Business Plan is the heart of your application to ESA BIC Slovakia. This isn’t just a formality; it is the document where you prove that your space technology can survive in the real market.
Here is what our evaluators are looking for in your 15-20 pages:
๐ The Space Connection (Crucial!) This is the make-or-break section. You must clearly describe which space technology or system you are using (e.g., EO data, GNSS signals, satellite comms) or what technology you are transferring from/to space. Warning: A weak space connection is eliminatory. If you aren’t sure, use our Space Connection Assessment first!
๐ฅ The Team Investors invest in people, not just ideas. Who are the visionary entrepreneurs behind the logo? Do you have the right mix of technical and business skills? If you are missing a skill, tell us how you plan to acquire it.
๐ Market & Value Proposition. Don’t just list features; tell us what problem you are solving. Who is your customer? Who are your competitors (yes, you have them)? Be realistic about your Total Addressable Market (TAM) and your Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM).
๐ฐ Business Model & Risks. How will you make money? Subscription, licensing, hardware sales? And importantly, show us you understand the Risksโboth technical and commercialโand have a plan to mitigate them.
๐ก Pro Tip from the template: This document is meant to be a living tool. You will continue to work on it during your incubation. Don’t try to answer every single question perfectly if you are early-stage, but show us you have a clear plan to find the answers.
